Museum of Fine Arts
The Fine Arts Museum is housed in a historic building: the former palace of the Archbishops of Tours, close to the cathedral.
Works of the 17th and 18th centuries evoking life in an 18th century palace; Works by 19th and 20th centuries The exhibition includes neo-classical (Suvée, Peyron) and romantic (Delacroix, Chassériau) paintings, orientalist (Belly, Berchère) and realist (Bastien-Lepage, Cazin, Gervex) paintings, impressionist (Monet), post-impressionist (Henri Martin) and symbolist (Le Sidaner) paintings, as well as sculptures by Rodin, Bourdelle, Gaumont and Sicard.
Modern and contemporary art Works by Serge Poliakoff, Max Ernst, Alexander Calder, Olivier Debré, François Morellet, Hervé Di Rosa, Jacques Monory, Pierre Buraglio, Claude Lévêque...
The museum has a programme of events, for example in the summer with "Les Nuits Renaissance".
Street art
To share the graffiti and street art of ToursIn this context, we would like to take a look at the city of Saint-Pierre des Corps, in which the Grabouilleurs collective is expressing itself, particularly on the outskirts of Tours.
Along the railway line, rue de la Morinerie, a 350 meter long wall has been entirely dedicated to graffiti and street art for the past twenty years.
Other places to see: the rue du capitaine Pougnon, in the Maryse Bastié district, the underside of the A10 bridge next to the Sainte-Radegonde park.
